I love women. Truly, I do, especially their womanliness.
But if I never hear another female voice on radio or television for as long as I live, apart from singing something sweet, I will die a happy man. Sometime in the last ten years women began to take over the media, and now their voices are completely dominant. BBC is the worst offender. And please get the little lady out of my GPS.
I find the women who do TV, and that also have radio shows, know how to modulate their voices better.
It used to drive me up a wall to deliberately avoid watching "The View" only to have some nightly news program play clips from it. Doesn't matter if it's the lib women or the conservative woman, or if they are talking about politics or the weather, they all sounded like chickens in the chicken coop to me (and yes I have been around chicken coops). I had to change the channel. There are a few on Fox News now whose voices I can't take either even though I agree with what they are saying (Kimberly Guilfoyle and Monica Crowley immediately come to mind) and although I don't agree with a single thing coming out of Rachel Maddow's mouth, she's not shrill like some of the other women in news on TV and I think it's because she has radio experience. I've seen Tammy Bruce (I used to listen to her radio program when I lived in Maryland) on TV and she also has a more pleasant voice. I can listen to Laura Ingraham on TV, too, another one with radio experience.
On the subject of the high pitch male voices; I think it was the trousers being too tight.
On the subject of female news readers; Some time ago, I read an article about female news readers taking steroids, so they could be more competitive in a largely male occupation. This also gives them deeper voices !
This is hilarious! How would you feel about Kathleen Turner anchoring the news? Her voice is significantly deeper than most men in the media. Personally, I'm partial to Rush's lisp that reminds me of the old cartoon character Sylverster the Cat.

And if history is the standard, I guess Hinduism is the truest of all, eh?
