Brown responded to Chris Christie’s “old retread” rant at the Republican National Convention by challenging the rotund governor of New Jersey to a fitness contest.
Christie dug into Brown Monday, saying that he couldn’t believe Californians chose “an old retread” over Meg Whitman.
“I don’t want to be insulting,” he said. “Jerry Brown? He won the New Jersey presidential primary over Jimmy Carter when I was 14 years old.”
Brown took the dig in stride, saying an attack by Republicans is a sign that he was worth his weight.
But was he going to pass up an opportunity to fire back at Christie? Fat chance.
“I hereby challenge Gov. Christie to a three-mile race, a push-up contest, a chin-up contest,” Brown said. “And whatever he wants to bet, I have no doubt of the outcome.”
Retread is right! We lived in California during the first Jerry Brown disaster. And it was a disaster! I still can't believe that Californians elected that has been failure a second time! No wonder they are in such a mess.
This should tell us something. Obama is a failure in his first term. We should give him another? Are we nuts? Are we gluttons for punishment? NO WE ARE NOT!
My wife is a San Diego native, and so I was there also when President Reagan was governor, replacing Edmund G. Brown in 1976.

Yeah, all of California's problems began in 2011 when he was elected. Really? If anything, he's done the kind of budget-cutting previous governors were afraid to take on.

It must be the drugs . They are going into liberal default mode as the country goes bankrupt.
Maybe Gov. Moonbeam should focus upon his state's very serious budget problems. The rest of this country doesn't want to bail-out California's debt set up by Brown's first administration and union pension pandering.
