How on Earth would a law like Lily Ledbetter be enforced without destroying business with billions of dollars worth of law suits? Every woman in the working world who thinks that they are not making what they think they should make will come out of the woodwork and sue their companies.

This is what's wrong with America. People hear ideas like "equal pay for equal work" but they do not have the intellectual curiosity to truly think about what this would mean in practice

The law is a great idea on paper but I can't see it working the way it was intended.

All that will happen will be that employers cut the pay of any man making more than any woman holding the same position. No one is going to get a raise.

This "war on women" crap isn't working on me. Guess I will listen to Bill "BJ" Clinton tonight and see if he can persuade me that those Dems respect women. Lol.

me, me, me, me!
Instead of focusing on how a political party helps one subgroup of Americans, how about focusing on how they help AMERICA as a whole.

As a thinking and working woman, I see absolutely nothing--nothing--that the Republicans propose that is favorable to working women..instead I see their misplaced desire to control my body and my destiny in regard to birth control.

I don't see how any working, thinking woman could vote for Romney/Ryan. They frighten me. And surely, they don't have my best interests at heart.

The idea that the female vote is based on reproductive rights is sexist. Because I'm female I'm supposed to be anti-gun and anti-war? I don't see men making a checklist for other men. Do men vote based on Viagra? Do they vote on which party would most likely haul them to jail for not paying child support?

The fact that some lefty woman just can't "see" how a female would vote differently indicates how very sexist they are and how they cannot fathom diversity of opinion.

1) On the point of equal pay. Employers run a business. They will pay for those employees that yield the most profit. Prior to having kids, I was a very profitable employee. I was dedicated, I traveled. I now have kids. That's not my priority anymore. My husband and I have discussed switching roles - do I want to go back to the rat race? No, I don't. As a result, I freelance and as such, my hourly rate is no less than my male counterparts.

2) Healthcare needs major reforms: too many middlemen, no transparency, no accountability. But national healthcare will crush our system and make it worse.

3) Education. Vouchers, school choice are making education more competitive and helping kids from underprivileged areas. Teachers unions are weakening and the focus is coming back to the kids.

BTW, you fail to ask women which party will help them run their business (or do you think women are fretting about their ovaries 24/7)? Which party will change the internet? What about ecommerce - tax online retail? How about online services? If it weren't for many of the technological advances of the last decade, women wouldn't have the ability to telecommute.

Do the names Sheryl Sandburg, Virginia Rometty, Meg Whitman and Marissa Mayer sound familiar to you? I bet Sandra Fluke sure does.

- Big government is going to solve your pay issues? Perhaps most working women take time out to have children or don't work long hours like men because they want more time off with the kids keeps this so called "pay gap" there?

- Affordable medical insurance? - Big government is going to tell the mean insurance companies to give the customer everything at an affordable price..everything....no..don't let people pick and choose what coverage they want...Americans are too stupid..make the insurance companies cover everything...at an affordable cost...and don't you dare go across state lines....none of the that free market stuff...but make it cheap too....

- Affordable education? - Big government going to put wage and price controls on colleges? Tell those greedy college professors they have to teach at least 40 hours a week, can't jack up the price of books each year...tell the administrators to cut back in their numbers...no more million dollar deans of colleges...you think big government is going to do that?....

- What is big government going to do for you!!! Yes..you....forget the idea that you make your own way in life..by god...they need to do something for you!!...a new car? free student loans?, free Prada bag?..what is it?

I will vote republican because I am more worried about the debt facing my children than whether or not someone else will pay for my choice to not have any more children. I am more worried that our national credit rating will slip more. I am more worried that businesses will fail and so there won't be any jobs to fight about who is getting paid what. I am more worried about the growing number of working age people entering the entitlement programs rather than becoming taxpayers. I am more worried about what is happening to all Americans than just one segment of society.

Part of the problems with women's pay is their chosen career field; I fit in that category. Part of the problem with women's pay is that, unlike most men, they put family ahead of work; I fit in the category. I do not regret my choices in life, they were my choices so I will live with the lower pay that came with them. No matter what bill of goods people try to sell you, you can't have it all. It is unfair to demand unequal circumstances and then expect equal treatment (pay).

The above does not mean I am unthinking, it means I think differently. There is no war on women, there is a disagreement about what defines rights.

And I disagree as well. I don't need government to fight my battles. And despite what politicians tell you, government is on the side of government and not the people.

My last employer didn't pay me what I was worth based on the amount of billing I was generating. Did I whine to government that I was being underpaid and suspected a couple guys were paid more? No, I quit and opened my own business and took quite a few of his customers with me. Problem solved. Now I make more and I have control of how much I am paid.

If you believe that either party has secured your future via SS or Medicare, you need to read up on where those programs are and how BOTH parties have almost bankrupt them both. And they still don't want to tell you the truth. If you want to put your retirement in the hand of government, be my guest. I will trust myself to provide my retirement and I assure you I'll not be stealing the funds from myself that I've worked so hard to save.

Most women are single issue voters that does nothing to help the country as a whole.

Talk is cheap and Obama is guilty of paying women less that the men surrounding him make. This affordable health care is anything but. I find most women who support the liberals are really very insecure and expect the government to back them up in their life choices and support them when things go south. Most are not the independent champions they portray themselves to be, but rather very insecure in general.
