I am much better off but as others have said, I don't think politics is why. I've worked hard and got through some tough times. I do not judge the President based soley on my little corner of the country.

I think it's too generic of a question. There will always be people on both sides of the answer regardless of the administration. I will vote for Obama bit it has nothing to do with where I was 4 years ago.

I'm way better off then I was 4 years ago, I was close to being a pauper & now I'm close to being able to afford a house. I should really vote Obama out, I'd hate for him to get reelected and my stocks go up even more and I marry Jessica Alba

Four years ago, lets see that places us in 2008.
I think I was making. . .lets say its a baseline of 1
it is now 2012, and i'm at 1.2 (20% increase in salary)
on top of that, I moved to a lower cost of living area

So yeah, I'm kosher and better off.

Technical, I think my experience is in line with the overall college educated middle class.

The median household income in the United States is $46,326????

HOUSEHOLD???

Damn, that doesn't seem right. I graduated in CS from a state school in 1998 and cleared 38, and definitely beat 46K within two years.

Golly, isn't it interesting that the LWNJ on c-d are the only ones claiming to be better off. Must be getting government handouts from Dear Leader.

Seems a number of people are asking that question. An article I read, just moments ago ....

Are you better off than you were four years ago? How Democrats will frame the question. - Slate Magazine

I enjoy reading the banter from both sides of the aisle. Each one blaming the other when none of them are any good and, in my opinion, they're all to blame for this mess. Politicians.

I am better off now than 4 years ago. I was better off 4 years ago than I was 4 years before that. I was better 8 years ago than I was 4 years before that and so on. The point is I am always better off because I take personal responsibility for my own decisions and actions. I don't rely on government handouts. I don't let horrible liberal policies prevent me from achieving all I can by working for it.

Now the better question is, is the COUNTRY better off and that's easy to answer. NO! Not by a long shot.
