I am. Four years ago I was just finishing college & entering the job market.
Since then I've been laid off and briefly unemployed but currently I have a job that pays me well, I have good benefits & I've been able to save a decent percentage of my salary. I was going to purchase a duplex earlier this year but decided not to as the property values in that area are decreasing but home ownership is in my near future.

It's the economy stupid. I agree with Clinton. Economy is in the dumpster and it won't turn around anytime soon.

Obama the food stamp president. Something is wrong with people need to have stamps and welfare to pay for food.

More people are on food stamps than at any time in our history. 47 Million Americans!
Our debt under Obama has risen by 5 Trillion dollars!!!! In less than 4 years!!!

Obama's record is disgusting!

In addition, look at gasoline prices! Right now, $3.80/gal in my town. Compare that with less than $2/gal when Obama took office.

Who could possibly say they are better off?
I am better off. Thanks for asking. I would offer you a job, but I am not in the home improvement business.

Am I better off, personally? Yes, but only because I worked (and worked hard) for that. Then again, I worked in a restaurant whose patrons were more or less well-off (not rich, or wealthy, just a lot of professional types who were retired) and didn't have money problems despite the economy being the way it was.

I have quite a few friends and family members that are not any better off than they were four years ago.

Yes. Our country is no longer losing 7-800,000 jobs a month; Osama bin Laden is dead; our soldiers are home from Iraq; my personal stock profile has rebounded from its post-crash low.

I'm not rich, but like the rest of the country things are moving in the right direction.

Damn, that doesn't seem right. I graduated in CS from a state school in 1998 and cleared 38, and definitely beat 46K within two years.
I love posting information like that.
So many people don't get it, or react at all.

Thanks for the post that it's up to 49k; not all that significant a difference, but worth noting.
