Roda O. Abdi, 44, and her husband, Ali-Nassir H. Ahmed, 52, each pleaded not guilty to a charge of felony theft, punishable by up to 10 years in prison. The couple is accused of fraudulently taking federal housing assistance money.
Abdi also was indicted on a misdemeanor charge of attempted theft in connection with attempts to redeem Women, Infants and Children program vouchers. That charge is punishable by up to 364 days in jail.
Their morning arraignment was aided by an interpreter who translated for the couple from English to Somali and to the judge from Somali to English.

The apartment building in which they live is owned by Abdi through a limited liability corporation called 210 Ash St. LLC, Assistant Attorney General Leanne Robbin said. Happens everyday, in cities all across the country. Yet, to the liberal/socialists of this country, welfare fraud is just a small percentage of monies spent.
Deport them ASAP, along with all the others that move here and mooch off us. I never signed up for supporting bums, and especially not foreign bums.
From further reading I am learning that many of the Somalis were located there as refugees. Another thing is that others in Africa are fraudulently claiming kinship to those who are here to seek P-3 family reunification. It was alleged that DNA testing is turning up the fraud. Supposedly up to 80% of the people coming from African countries are not related to those they are claiming as relatives.
It is frustrating to read that we are being taken advantage of by those we sought to help.
Deport any immigrants legal or illegal who come here to sponge.
