I was thinking about this today. I have never met a really upbeat, positive, happy go luck atheist. Almost every one that I have encountered is doom and gloom, extremely cynical and generally miserable. Has anyone ever met a really happy atheist? If so, tell me about him/her. Thanks

LOL...so you need Jesus to be happy?

That being said, I will say it must be nice to be able to delude yourself into believing that God will take care of everything, that you will go to heaven when you die, etc.

Happy go lucky. Enjoy my work, my home my wife , my life. Grew up Catholic and stopped going to church as soon as I was old enough to supposedly get my self there.

It's wonderful knowing that a sinner like me who fails my spouse, children and God, on an almost daily basis is loved unconditionally by God. He loves you too; there is nothing that you can do to make God not love you. He only asks that you return the favor, but even if you don't he's still waiting for you with open arms. He loves you.

About how many "joyful" people are you encountering on a daily basis? Am I the only person who finds people who walk around constantly with smiles on their faces annoying? No, I know I'm not, because I've heard others express the same feelings.

Did you mean to ask, "Has anyone ever met an atheist who is not miserable?" Yes, I have.

I have several friends who are athesists. One of them, in particular, is the most upbeat, energetic, fun-loving extrovert with a BIG E, you'd ever meet. There are plenty of cynical people out there: Christian, atheist, whatever.

Of course, if every atheist that comes into contact with you seems doom and gloom, extremely cynical, and miserable, there could be a reason they are portraying that "face" of themselves to you.

Very familiar with Catholicism, can't blame you for that one. Lemme ask you this; have you ever been to a church where the vibe was one of a personal relationship with Jesus/God, based on love, grace and forgiveness and not a ritualistic one, based on works?
