Libertarians have a penchant to be more illogical than rational. Even if something makes sense, they oppose it just because it's not aligned with their ideology. That's cultish behavior. Hence, people pay it no mind.
You must be confusing libertarians with Republicans and Democrats.
Because it's ineffective. Only products with lobbyists get the FDA "approval" and all the benefits that entails. I'm also curious where in the Constitution it says the federal government is to set up a drug regulation administration?
Hey, I'm glad that you shed some light on this. But libertarianism is misunderstood by libertarians as well. It IS an offshoot of the socialist movement, believe it or not.
lol, Libertarians believe in self responsibility, not cradle to grave nanny policies enspoused for and by the federal goverment.
So what do libertarians want, if they're okay with regulating commercial activity and private conduct, if they're okay with public schools, if they're okay with a huge military going to war...
...They sound like Republocrats.
Also, that monopoly one sounded like a cop out, the difference between a government monopoly and a private monopoly is that at least we own the government monopoly.

Not to mention not picking winners or losers. That isn't the government's job. Hello, bailouts anyone? Why did us taxpayers have to foot the bill for p*** poor decisions made by the big fat cat banksters?

Actually it is an offshoot of Classical Liberalism. There are indeed socialist movements called "Libertarian", but that refers to socialist anarchism as opposed to a limited state with extensive social and economic freedoms.

Coming from one of the most shrill and partisan members on this forum that is almost complement.

There's good government and bad government. Libertarians have a hard time distinguishing the two.
All government agencies?
I doubt you will find many libertarians that support the complete abolition of all law enforcement agencies nor the military.

Generally speaking, libertarians tend to favor a non-interventionist foreign policy (Note: I am far more hawkish than most libertarians). Libertarians mostly opposed the war in Iraq and oppose much of the meddling that is currently going on in the Middle East.
Also, libertarians are almost universally opposed to drug prohibition, sodomy laws, and a whole host of laws that currently deal with private behavior.
