How many mean natured threads and posts are we going to see smearing unions?

Right wingers resent working class people making a good living for their family.

A day from now they'll start another thread telling about how poorly treated Billionaires are because Dems wants to raise their tax rate by 2 percentage points to help solve the budget deficit.

You can keep listening to these bitter, elderly, whites who want to drag your family down to their level, or you can start the long journey to help your kids and grandkids be able to make a decent living if they are willing to work.

Work to strengthen unions, and work to increase workers rights.

Maybe she'll buck the fed and put Grimace in charge of the cafeteria system as one of the demands?

Remember this when you go to vote in November.

One party is working against middle class people organizing to obtain better pay and benefits for their family.

One party is working to expand the gap between rich and poor.
What about the middle class people who's taxes are going to go up? Do you really think that fundamental fact is lost on the middle class struggling to pay property taxes?

"The strike puts Obama between the American Federation of Teachers, which endorsed his re-election in February, and his former chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, who as mayor of Chicago oversees the school district. Obama Education Secretary Arne Duncan is the former chief executive officer of Chicago's schools and has used federal funds to advocate tying teachers' evaluations to student performance, measures opposed by the 30,000-member union."

From The Detroit News: Obama caught between school overhaul, striking Chicago union | The Detroit News | detroitnews.com

"I've walked picket lines before........you've got a partner in me " speech...oops!

The union head and Obama are kindred spirits as neither want to be judged on their performance.

Maybe Rohm should phone WI gov Walker and get some advice.

Ok..better stop now. Chicago is a Dem city. Rahm is a Dem mayor. Rahm is not an "old White guy".

Rahm is a Dem. Dems love the union. So why are the teachers striking in Chicago ?

There's nothing "right winged" about this strike my friend.
You're too quick to post. This is Dems vs union now.

Taxes cannot go up any more. Rahm has taxed to the legal limit to give the teachers what they wanted.
$700 million in the red this year and projected to run $1 billion in the red next year.

Um, if you pay attention, they pretty much smear themselves with their own words and actions.

If I were in charge in Chicago, I would yank that 16% increase in pay over 4 years off the table so fast. One of the worst educational areas in the country, and they get a damn raise. But not just a raise, a HUGE raise. Yet they still arent happy. They dont deserve an increase, they deserve a decrease.

And this idiot who leads them.....that says it all. No wonder our system is broken. Because Unions are a joke and have become self serving garbage, especially given they allow people like her to lead them and near our kids. I wouldnt want my kid learning how to tie his shoe from her, let alone anything else.

And here's the irony. Rahm's proposals are taken from Obama's RTT.
Those Chicago teachers don't like RTT now that it's going to be implemented on them.

Simply unreal, isnt it. Itd be one thing if the product coming out was something to brag about, but its not even close. Our educational system, partially due to Unions/partially due to being run by Government, is an sick joke. And I think this makes something clearer.........it is much, much worse than we thought it was.

Unions served the purpose of protecting workers, but this was in the past. There's rarely worker abuse in private industry these days. All the sweat shops have moved off-shore with companies like APPLE and NIKE leading the way. They (Unions) now serve themselves and will strike on the slightest hint of not getting their way 100%. To them "giving in" is having to pay 12% of their healthcare insurance. Such hypocrites, having gone to the dark side.

Don't tell us to support a union that is striking because they want a 33% raise on top of the average $82,000 year they make now. That's total BS. We are in a depression, and you want people to support a union that has shown how greedy they've become? This is RICH!!! Just like the Wisconsin teachers striking and saying it was for the kids!

You have no credibility... stay in the basement and go back to playing WoW!
