Al-Queda claimed responsibility for the attack on the Libyan consulate.

Anti-Islam Video Protests Live Blog - Al Jazeera Blogs
Al-Qaeda said the deadly attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, Libya was in revenge for the killing of the network's number two, Sheikh Abu Yahya al-Libi, SITE Intelligence Group reported on Saturday.

"The killing of Sheikh Abu Yahya only increased the enthusiasm and determination of the sons of [Libyan independence hero] Omar al-Mokhtar to take revenge upon those who attack our Prophet," Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula said in a statement, quoted by the US-based monitoring group.

Now how about the other 20 attacks on American diplomatic headquarters?

So many excuses with very little about just plain old hatred for infidels. It seems to be a communicable disease that is passing around the Muslim world.

I heard yesterday that as many as 52,000 people have seen that movie on YouTube. It looks like most of them must have been Muslims. I really question that it was that thing that caused all the trouble since the movie just became available on Monday or Tuesday.

I think the others were really protests. Just some looting, fires and replace the flag.

Oh..Egyptian TV aired that clip over and over last Saturday on their TV. Many more saw it via Egyptian TV then on you tube I think.
Plus the guy on Egyptian TV said the movie was connected to the US and Coptics.

I didn't know that the US government supported the Coptics that the Egyptians have been killing the past year so that is a purely false accusation.

I really think that the use of that movie to arouse Muslims was a planned thing and that Egyptians refuse to acknowledge that the US is not standing up for the "movie" when they are interrogating the "guilty" party.

Not really surprising that it was a planned revenge attack.

I have heard that as well from MSNBC. How does that play into Romney's narrative that Obama is weak on terrorism when he is taking out Al-Qaeda?

So Carney was wrong when he said the attacks had nothing to do with America, American policy, or this administration, but rather, due to the release of that movie.

Weren't we the ones who gave AL Queda in Libya weapons when they were part of the rebel group we supported to overthrow Khadafi?

Sounds like Fast and Furious in the Middle East. First a border agent's blood on this administration's hands, now 4 more Americans dead due to an inability to understand consequences of decisions.

I thought Al-Quaeda and the Taliban were the same group and that they just had 2 different names.
Then I didn't know which ones were our friends and which ones we're supposed to hate.

If I had to attend daily military briefings the first question I'd ask is who are our friends today and who are our enemies today. It is that bad.

Well according to Mr. Obama, Al Quida was "dismantled" after the killing of OBL.

Think again Barry.

You know,I was curious as to why the ambassador supposedly died of suffocation when according to initial reports, he was moved away from the burning embassy into a safe house. Wonder if he was really shot with an American made bullet from a gun given to the rebels?
