Bigger picture, but I wish the government would quit locking up people for non-violent (and non criminal) offenses,thus greatly reducing the prison population and its ability to hire out slave laborers.

This is why I see it as a problem that some prisons are owned by corporations, making it economically beneficial for them to lock up those on the lower end of the criminal activity chain.
THey shouldn't be producing a product for sale. Nothing wrong with them making roadsigns, license plates ect. All prisons should also have farms and be as self sufficiant as possible.
