The mainstream media is neither liberal nor conservative. The media created this fluff when it shifted news departments from public services designed actually report events to "separate profit centers". These are just emotional filler between the advertisements.
How can the media be unbiased when Liberals outnumber Conservatives in news reporting 4-to-1? Even more telling, 90% of Washington correspondents vote for Democrats. With an environment that one sided, how can there be any doubt that they lean left?
The same applies to entertainment. Hollywood is so overwhelmingly Liberal that Conservatives have to hide their beliefs in fear of being outed and ruining their careers. Can you tell me with a straight face that HBO isn't Liberal? What about Family Guy/American Dad, The View, The Daily Show, Colbert, SNL, MSNBC, etc? Would you call Modern Family a Conservative show? Even The Simpsons has taken a hard left turn lately. How many Obama fundraisers have been thrown by and attended by celebrities? The only celebs on the side of Romney are Clint Eastwood and Chuck Norris, and a handful of others who are either too established to shun or who haven't been relevant for years.
Liberal bias is simply overwhelming in the media. Mel Gibson had to make Passion of the Christ himself because every studio turned him down, even though it went on to make over $400 million dollars. Meanwhile, they continue to churn out a continual stream of anti-war and anti-military movies that LOSE money, driven by ideology rather than business.
The media is overwhelmingly Liberal because those who work in and run the media are overwhelmingly Liberal. It so blatantly obvious that I can't believe it's ever in doubt.
That's the truth. I watched MSNBC for about 3 hours last night and couldn't believe the whining and screeching. It was embarrassing.
Fox does the same thing but not as much and with much more honesty. Fox presents both sides; MSNBC just their side, and honestly, their pundits are hideous to look at AND to listen to.
i don't have a problem with you accusing MSNBC of being left focused, but please do not call Fox News fair and honest. Those guys are as far to the right as MSNBC is to the left.
Whenever libs complain about FOX news and conservative talk radio, keep in mind that the liberal media created them. Back when journalists actually reported news and investigated events, regardless of political party implications, there was the traditional television news outlets and newspapers.
In the last thirty years, the media has moved so far to the left that they have become a marxist propaganda unit which no longer reports the news. ANY NEWS which may have negative implications for the liberals in political power are simply ignored or buried.

To act as though it was some spontaneous creation to counteract "marxist propaganda" is either a known lie on your part or fevered fantasy. Rupert Murdoch would have am all puppy news channel if he thought it would make him money. Ailes, however, is a true believer and ideologue and Murdoch saw a money maker in what he was pitching.

Of course. This is what created conservative talk radio and Fox news. People are tired of hearing propaganda from the left, rather than news. It is so blatantly partisan and obvious that it is more akin to comedy than journalism. One simply cannot help but laugh at them.
Given the marxist propaganda television and newspaper outlets, there was an obvious demand created for a different news source. Oddly, liberals decry even ONE dissenting opinion, as they abhor free speech and understand that liberalism looks ridiculous when subjected to scrutiny.

Because it is as best a rumor. White House denies it. There is no proof other than he said she said. Any news outlet that tries to make this out as "fact', is being untruthful.
