NO child should ever receive a report card until the 6th grade.....up to that point, the report card should be on the parents. And not based on test grades....it should be based on the things which I mentioned above.

Teachers are under extreme pressure and when they have to take time from other students in order to take care of your irresponsibility, they become less effective.
Sounds like my parents.

I know from first hand experience how a parent can fail a child. If you really loved them you'd be very involved in their lives.

Why do I ask? Because it is obvious by your comments that you don't have children.

If you don't have children, your comments don't have much credibility on this thread. Thanks for playing.

Both parents and schools can fail our children. Often enough, it's not an "either-or" situation, but both.

and when I do send them to class with reading skills, and the teachers refuse to teach, or refuse to promote("it might hurt someones feelings if we promote him before his peers")

send my kid to school fed, and the school requests we send in snacks FOR THE WHOLE CLASS

send them in with not only for them, but for the whole class (community supplies), mean while I pay very high school taxes

first thing upon coming home, the child does homework right in front of parent as parent starts dinner....mean while the teachers never explain the homework

kids bedtime is about 8pm no later than 9pm depending on additional activities(no tv)

so the parent that do the right thing, yet their kids are not being properly taught..the blame can squarely be laid at the feet of the teachers...according to you

It is in the interest of the whole country to see to it that students have proper education. I'm not interested in living in a 3rd. world country. Are you?

Are you suggesting that childless people have no business caring about schools?

Who the hell do you think is picking up the tab for public education? Parents? It cost my district around $10,000 for a year of schooling, per student. Most property does not pull in enough tax revenue for one kid, much less 3 or 4 a family.

When the citizens of this nation stop caring about the future of the next generation, we are in deep trouble. They are our grandkids, nieces, nephews and friends.

Why?
I was a child, one of 6.
I know what my parents did, and I see the results.
5 successful kids.

I was also a teacher.

I chose not to breed.

So I have no credibility?
