That's exactly what I was thinking. If you can't afford to live like regular people, then it's time to move or get a better job. This is nothing more than the usual suspects saying, "I want to live in this high COL city just like you do, but don't want to make the money to do so, so provide something for me because it JUST ISN'T FAIR!"

I must have missed the part that says people are going to be forced to live in these units against their will.

I can concur with this. There is a demand for at least slightly cheaper housing. However, even though the demand might be there for smaller apartments, not many people will fill that demand. People want to make big dollars, and they want to make big dollars NOW, not down the road, but NOW. In order to rack up large dollars immediately, the idea would be to build larger apartments and charge more to live there. The micro-apartments would be for people who might want smaller rents and who don't mind less space. However, downsizing is not what the big companies are out for. The focus is on those persons who can afford to pay the large dollars.

Why not just rent out a storage unit to crash in when you need to sleep? That appears to be what these are. I guess storage units don't fit the green agenda though. Maybe if somebody put up a windmill outside of one it would work??

I don't care what Glenn Beck says. I never thought I'd see the day where our government considers it's own citizens terrorists and allow body searches at airports and drone surveillance over our heads either. Did you?

Here's a family of four's home that is 168 sq ft.

Here's a 150 sq ft. RV.

Living small: when home is a 150-square-foot RV - YouTube

I guess it is doable, but man that seems so cramped.

Looks like a place to be if you're too poor to be in a trailer court.
