Exactly.

In before "have you even been there?", "I've lived there for x years" or other subjective anecdotal statements.

You do not seem to know much bout Germany, I have lived there. The German citizen has an extensive safety net he can rely on, like Kurzarbeit program- instead of a company doing mass layoffs- they work reduced hours- the Government subsidizes it and it a win win situation for alll. The Mini Job is another program that allows people to work few hours in combination with receiving unemployment benefits. Universities are free or at most 500 euros per semester- Kindergeld- equivalent to child support- "Free" health care. No one starves in Germany, no homeless or destitute people. I could go on and on

I hope "the 99%" are watching and taking notes, because they're gonna be doing the same thing in less than 10 years when our debt becomes 126% of GDP thanks to the Dems spending spree.

LOL, thanks for proving my point.

How do you know what my background is? Did you know I was raised in Europe and have lived there longer than you have (in a true socialist country, not a capitalist society like Germany mind you)?

Nope. Public and private social expenditure in percentage of GDP: Spain 16%, Germany 25%
And in addition to regular income taxes Germany also has a 41% payroll taxes, which Spain doesn't have, to pay for health insurance, retirement pension and unemployment.

Spain's problems stem from mismanagement, corruption, and a massive real estate bubble, not "socialism."

I'll bet the Spanish government was forced by the IMF or world bank to impose "austerity" measures on the population instead of confiscatory taxes on the wealthy. The WB and IMF bastards do that to punish "socialists" trying to provide some security for everyone.
