Team Romney will have some additional ammunition after Bob Woodward’s appearance on Morning Joe today.
The long-time political reporter and author claims that Obama has plans to cut more than $250 billion from Medicare in his next term, and has seen the memos detailing those proposals:
Mika Brzezinski says, “Wow,” at the end of audio clip, but it’s Joe Scarborough who goes after Obama for hypocrisy and demagoguery. Woodward says that “this is beyond politics — it’s mathematics … you have to do something” about Medicare’s unsustainable path. However, Scarborough wonders how Obama plans to make that happen after attacking Republicans for doing exactly what Woodward says — the math.
The only one in this election who has a real plan on the table is Paul Ryan. He’s been the only mover in DC willing to do the math and to propose an actual solution.
Good. Medicare needs to be cut; it was never paid for.

this isn't true. not only is ryan's plan one among many, but it isn't even a fair plan. it makes minimal cuts to the current medicare system, and then draws a hard line, screwing everyone who was born after that.

Paul Ryan's plan will give seniors the option of having a plan exactly like the plan that Congress gets.

Paul Ryan's plan is to, and I quote, "leave the benefit exactly intact as it is today for people in and near retirement. "
that's unacceptable. the benefit exactly as it is today has not been paid for adequately. It far exceeds the payroll taxes these people paid into the system. "Obamacare" is absolutely correct to ration out benefits.

The big difference is that Obama isn't attempting to screw over young people by forcing them to pay for Medicare, and then eliminating future medicare benefits when they're old enough to retire. That's what the Ryan plan does.

RUBBISH......
If we go Obama's way, Medicare will cease to exist for EVERYONE.
Paul Ryan's plan keeps Medicare going so everyone will still have it when they come of age.
So this plus the cuts from Obamacare bring it up to $1 trillion dollars.
Is that how the Dems plan to reform medicare ? Just cut it until it doesn't exist anymore.
Doctors are not going to treat people for free and neither will hospitals.

"screwing everyone who was born after that." Nice claim but, can you back it up?

Of course he can't because he even knows that's a bald faced lie.
Seniors polled say they like Ryan's Plan better than Obama's.
No politician is going to propose "screwing everyone who was born after that". That would be political suicide.
But let's not lose focus on the topic at hand......
Although Obama attacks Romney/Ryan saying they will make cuts to Medicare, his own plan makes cuts to Medicare.
Simply put: Another example of Obama's hypocrisy.
