Watch the liberal media try a last ditch effort to pick up the fallen empty chair

JOB NUMBERS: MEDIA PRE-SPINS TO ENSURE OBAMA WIN

Obama has failed at absolutely everything he's touched -- the stimulus, foreign policy, cash for clunkers, green jobs, the economy, and most especially job creation. Oh, and he sucks so hard at debating that the best one of the worst flaks in media could do was to attempt to call last night a draw.

Last night's debate loss was huge, which means Obama's Media Palace Guards are desperate to find a win for the President as quickly as possible. Today's new jobless numbers certainly didn’t fit the bill, but tomorrow's monthly jobs report just might. But like I said, Obama sucks at job creation, which is why the media grades him on such a pathetic curve and is already pre-spinning a win.

More than once, on CNN and elsewhere, the media is apparently setting the bar for an Obama job creation-win at a paltry, pathetic 100,000.

"If it's over 100,000 jobs created, that's a win for Obama. If it's under 100,000, that's a loss," a CNN analyst said in so many words earlier today.

to keep up with population growth, the economy needs to generate anywhere from 105,000 to 125,000 jobs a month. If all we do is cover this nut, we're treading water. In order to actually create a net-plus number of jobs, we have to do much better than the 100,000 number

Yep, this is racism pure and simple.

Every single one of these crackpots implying that the employment numbers are cooked are all alike.

White, male, middle aged to elderly, from privilege, who can't bear to see a minority as President.

It absolutely kills their soul that numbers have come out that don't reflect poorly on him.

They know this ruins their political chances, so they lash out at BLS, by claiming their data is manipulated.

They'll never admit to it, but 50 years ago these guys would have been Klan members.

Part-Timers Fuel Jobless Rate Drop; U.6 obama jobless rate Unchanged at 14.7%

Curb your enthusiasm over the surprise 0.3 percentage point drop in September’s unemployment rate, to 7.8%. It was largely because of a surge in the number of part-time workers who would really rather have (or need) full-time jobs.

According to the survey of households, from which the jobless rate is derived, 873,000 people found jobs last month–which is a huge gain. But, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 600,000 of those workers settled for part-time employment for economic reasons, not by choice.

The so-called underemployment rate, which takes into account these involuntary part-timers and those “marginally attached” to the labor force, showed no improvement whatsoever. It still stands at a dismal 14.7%, only a marginal improvement since last May, while the headline jobless rate is down significantly from 8.2%.

Not everyone thinks the numbers are fixed, but there are plenty of us that know that they don't tell the real story...they never have and they never will. Part of the spike we are seeing and will continue to see are seasonal with holiday hiring starting, teachers and related back to school jobs like bus drivers and aides. This doesn't even get into the fact that many of the new jobs are part time, and/or low wage jobs where people took pay cuts. Regardless of your political viewpoint, these are facts, and the way the employment numbers are published has always been misleading, at least going back to 99/2000. Also, this time next month there will be a revision, as there is every month, no telling which way that goes.

Well that's a rational, reasonable answer which I happen to agree with.

But then we would have to get into the fact the President has really little effect on the unemployment rate to begin with, and this all just a bunch of poppycock trying to tie him into good or bad economic news to make political hay.
