Okay. Can the anti-tax slogans and all that crap: you're gonna get taxed by the feds no matter what, whether you want to or not... that'll never change.
Let's say that you're in a voting booth and you have to select one of the following:
- I want my tax dollars to go towards funding an abortion for a 12-year old girl who was a victim of incest and rape and absolutely does not want to give birth;
- I want my tax dollars to go towards dropping a bomb on an apartment building in Tehran filled with school-aged children and their mothers.

Which would you pick?
The question is a non sequitur, because the federal government is duty bound by the US Constitution to provide for national security, not to pay for abortions.

But, how is bombing an apartment building full of civilians an issue of national security?
Americans don't vote for wars, or even specific issues. We vote for representation that we think will do a better job. Then they govern.
That wasn't the question.
The question was, if you had to choose between one of the two - had no choice, and for whatever reason you were in a voting booth and that was what you were faced with... which would you choose?
Which makes saying "neither" a simple, easy choice.
