Actualy it obviously goes both ways and the country would be a better place if it stopped.

The majority of the poor don't stay poor. Even under the failed Liberal Great Society programs the poor have the chance to move up the economic food chain if they want too, and most do move up.

Try living in the poor neighborhoods in some of our large cities and tell me things aren't similar to third world countries. Is there even a developed country with a higher murder rate than here in the US? Higher addiction rates?

"Developed" countries. Countries where a large percentage of the population isn't poor.

The real main things im concerned about as far as COL are affordable housing(rent or own) and the rights of both sides, affordable healthcare and food. Everything else is really a waste. Charities are no better then government handouts. It's all wasted in upper management.

I could try to save up for 20-30 years to retire from a mcjob, but the moment a health problem arises, your saving is gone and you're screwed.
Making 8 to 10$/hr is fine if you save some and there is no inflation. Inflation is the reason why everyone is getting poorer. Sure, I am making more that what I made last year, but I am buying a lot less, and this is what inflation is. Inflation only benefit the debtors, it transfer wealth from savers to debtors.

As for health insurance, it will be fine too, IF we have real insurance. What we have no IS NOT insurance. It is a 3rd party payment system. Insurance is insured against uncertainty, like cancer. If "insurance" pays for something happens 100% certain, like a cold, then it is not insurance. Just imagine how much car insurance cost if they have to pay for your gas and oil change. Or home owner insurance would cost if they have to pay for your utilities.

The working poor are the most screwed over sect in this country. It sucks to work 50+ hours a week and still not be able to afford vacations, time off, or to live in a decent neighborhood.

Being poor is supposed to suck, its the biggest incentive not to be.

If it solely represented contribution to society, it'd be more just. Unfortunately, income is not always based on contribution to society.
