I would say it greatly depends on where you live, but even then, yes. You just have to live in the real world and spend you money accordingly.

Default Is $55,000 a year for one adult decent

Outside of most metropolitan areas, that would be a decent income level. The price of housing in many large cities would put it on the low side for those markets, though.

It depends on the region of the country. $55,000 in New York isn't the same as $55,000 in West Virginia.

I live in Va beach. for 55K you can not only live comfortably, but enjoy life as well.

There are some very expensive cities, like NYC, and DC, and then there are other cities like Va. Beach which is fairly median.

I don't know what the rest of you are making, but I'd live extremely comfortable on $50k in this country. Even in Chicago.

I mean these stupid questions are annoying. Have not most people on this site at one time or another lived on less than 55K? If not you should have...builds character.
