There's serious underlying hypocrisy in the concept of the death penalty. Whether you are indignant about any given crime or not, is not the issue.
The issue is that it is hypocrisy to kill someone as a solution to the problem of killing. It is the same as saying, I'm against stealing. So if you steal, I will steal from you to show you that stealing is wrong.

Peace,
brian

People are wrongfully accused and their life stolen from them for crimes they did not commit.

If this was your daughter or sister I suspect you would feel different.

I am at peace knowing that child killer / rapist is behind bars and no longer walks free among the law abiding citizens.

To elaborate this idea a bit further, for those who want to understand:

The hypocrisy: it's wrong to kill, but it's useful to kill those who kill.

This hypocrisy weighs on the collective psyche of any country that upholds it. The inherent contradiction that cannot be solved, that killing is both right and wrong, creates cognitive dissonance. How can something that is wrong be right? How can something that is right be wrong?

This is the contradiction. (There are other examples, too.)

Peace,
brian

Deterrence and rehabilitation doesn't work!

If a man is willing enough to brutally murder and rape a child; there is no hope for him and no purpose for his existance on this earth. Lets kill them and keep our jails from overcrowding. We're providing these manics with free heathcare, shelter, food and more and it's it's BS!

Have you ever actually read Marx? Communism is a theoretical state where government is absent. What did the letters USSR stand for? The second S in particular.

The Catholic Church is quite liberal on economic issues, a bit socialist you could argue. Sad to see so much anti-Catholic hatred by liberals on this site.
