My recommendation would be twelve years max.

My gosh, if you can't make effective changes or progress in twelve years, you're not doing your damn job.

These people should be serving US, not their own political agenda or career. WE VOTE THEM IN AND WE PAY THEIR SALARIES.

Eventually, they become corrupted and at the beck and call of various lobbyists.

That's my take on it, anyway. Your thoughts?

If a President can only serves 2 terms, Congress can do the same.

I agree, it is a horrendous idea. The only term limit I recognize is the vote.

while i agree with congressional term limits, i doubt very much it will ever happen simply because we would need a constitutional amendment to make it happen, and such an amendment would NEVER make it through congress regardless of how much pressure the american people would put on congress to make it happen.

We already have term limits.. They are elections. If you don't like a politician and believe that politician has become corrupted, then vote them out. Become politically active and don't meerly vote.

Some politicians can't be voted out due to gerrymandering. Redistricting reform is much more important than term limits.
