How can anyone forget the vitriolic hate that was visited upon George W. Bush by the left from his first day in office? It *STILL* hasn't ended and here we are four years after W.'s presidency ended.
Do you remember why people had an instant hate for Bush of does your short term memory delete those memories?

LOL, you partisan hacks crack me up.

Robert Draper Book: GOP's Anti-Obama Campaign Started Night Of Inauguration

Quote:
The dinner lasted nearly four hours. They parted company almost giddily. The Republicans had agreed on a way forward:

-Go after Geithner. (And indeed Kyl did, the next day: ‘Would you answer my question rather than dancing around it—please?’)
-Show united and unyielding opposition to the president’s economic policies. (Eight days later, Minority Whip Cantor would hold the House Republicans to a unanimous No against Obama’s economic stimulus plan.)

-Begin attacking vulnerable Democrats on the airwaves. (The first National Republican Congressional Committee attack ads would run in less than two months.)
-Win the spear point of the House in 2010. Jab Obama relentlessly in 2011. Win the White House and the Senate in 2012.

From day 1 Mr. Obama made it clear what he was giong to do. Those things are antithetical to repbulican POLICY. Why would republicans support someone whos policy views are diametrically opposed to their beliefs?

geez.

All you needed to do was to google this question...

The Conspiracy to Commit Legislative Constipation

The Conspiracy to Commit Legislative Constipation | Vanity Fair

On the night of Barack Obama’s inauguration, Republican leaders met in a private dining room at an expensive Washington, D.C., steakhouse to plot their comeback. It was a mix of congressmen and senators with three others added to diversify the gathering of white men. Pollster Frank Luntz, right-wing journalist Fred Barnes, and former speaker (and soon-to-be former presidential candidate) Newt Gingrich. Gingrich gave the opening remarks and gave tactical advice throughout, including a suggestion for Republicans to target the tax problems of New York Democrat Charlie Rangel. At the end of the night, Gingrich proclaimed, “You will remember this day. You’ll remember this as the day the seeds of 2012 were sown.

Yes, these power hungry pigs put the needs of the nation aside for their self-serving agenda. Treasonous!

Why didn't these wimps just get some Viagra to compensate for their lack of real integrity and gonads?

Yes, Bush was criticized BEFORE he was elected and all throughout both terms. He was judged way more harshly than Obama has been.

geez.

Herein lies the problem, some of what Obama proposed were REPUBLICAN ideas, tax cuts for small businesses, etc, and they still opposed it. I dont agree with a lot of his policies, he is far too liberal for my taste, but, I dont agree with all of the right wing policies either..

A sharper Dem party might have managed expectations differently during the latter stages of the 2008 campaign. If they had, it's more likely Mc Cain/GOP would have had the honor of using their magic wand to make all the problems go away.

If I were the Queen of a Democrat Super Pac in 2008, I would have likely said, "let's sit this one out, guys".

Daily Kos: Biden: Mitch McConnell vowed no cooperation with the Obama administration from the get-go

Quote:
Biden says that during the transition, he was warned not to expect any cooperation on many votes.

“I spoke to seven different Republican Senators, who said, `Joe, I’m not going to be able to help you on anything,’ he recalls. His informants said [Senate Minority Leader Mitch] McConnell had demanded unified resistance. “The way it was characterized to me was: `For the next two years, we can’t let you succeed in anything. That’s our ticket to coming back,’” Biden says.

The vice president says he hasn’t even told Obama who his sources were, but Bob Bennett of Utah and Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania both confirmed they had conversations with Biden along these lines.
