In 2014, employers must provide coverage to all employees working more than 30 hours per week--or pay fines. Many employers with large numbers of employees who work more than 30 hours but less than 40 are making plans to cut schedules back to less than 30 hours to avoid the costs and penalties of Obamacare.
Alternatively, employers with 32 hour schedules may fire 20% of the staff and move the remainder up to 40 hours, thereby getting the same number of labor hours but with 20% less Obamacare cost.
The road to hell is paved with good intentions; Obamacare will hurt a large swath of the working class, particularly at the lower end.
Some politicians don't care how many people are hurt by their policies, as long as their intentions were good.
Romneycare is doing just fine in MA, and Romney/Obamacare will do just fine nationwide.
I thought the GOP were all about things like "Pulling your own weight?" That's exactly what Romney/Obamacare is all about,..
"Pulling your own weight??!" No, it appears it is about driving up the cost of employing people, which inevitably means lower employment than we would otherwise enjoy...part of the Great Obama Stagnation.
"Pulling your own weight" means pulling your own weight, not soaking your employer for an expensive new benefit.

Obama care, and Romney care, isnt even close to the same.
Romneycare doesnt tax businesses to hell for providing good full time jobs.. Obamacare actually encourages companies to fire full time workers and go to part time ..
I can see employers cutting their employees to 30 hours so they don't have to pay the $2000 fine and engage in job sharing for clerical, trade jobs, hospitality workers, and similar type jobs. Employers will be able to find people willing to work part time and will be able to save a lot of money, particularly with the older employees--they won't have to insure them and they won't even have to pay them for 40 hours.
