Mr. President, military still uses bayonets (problems, Presidents, city, liberal)

While stationed in Koera, 2005 - 2009, and being in Aviation, and having our own Aviation armor we were told that we must also have grunt armor...so when we got out of the helicopter we had to take our Aviation armor off and put our grunt armor on......
When you are issued something, the entire Army get issued it whether you need it or not....
Did that include bayonets or smaller, more portable knives, etc.?
Anyway, the Army stopped bayonet training in basic in 2010.
We ALL know Obama did NOT say all horses and bayonets. So, why did he even mention them anyway?
He was trying to infer that Romney is an idiot and out of touch with what the military needs.
Obama chastised Romney, talking to him like some school aged kid, after Romney said that our Navy is smaller then it has been in years and he will make sure it doesn't stay that way..
I find it funny that Obama brings up "new" ships like air craft carriers, as if we haven't had the before he became President.
He said we need carriers but, don't nee the other types of ships.
What does he think protects air craft carries when out at sea but those ships he said we don't need anymore, like battleships, destroyers and other ships that support the carriers.
Obama's constant condescending manner acting as only HE is the smartest most capable person on the stage did NOT go undetected by MANY Independents.
We all know Obama wasn't talking about an M7 attached to an M4. He means/meant "edged weapons". If you aren't smart enough to know makes and models...."bayonet" works.
That's funny, when he said "bayonets" I simply assumed he meant "bayonets". Go figure.
I suspect that if he meant "edged weapons" he would have just said "knives".
??? Did Obama say that the military no longer used bayonets?

He said, "Less" of them and Yes that's all the rightwingnuts have to say about anything. They are nothing but a bunch of idiots with old ideas that have been proven over and over and over again to FAIL.
He probably should have referenced "musket balls" rather than bayonets. There's a lot less room for stretching the truth there. But I'm sure someone would have found a modern-day use for musket balls to prove Obama a liar.
Electronics people tend to be interested in technical stuff(big surprise huh) - weapons and weapons systems certainly qualify.
