I've found that NPR is more informative than conventional talk radio, and I hate hearing the same 20 songs over and over on the radio, so NPR is my station of choice. All that being said, I still believe that NPR and PBS can do without government funding.

How about you? Are you a CPR Fan?
I listen to NPR on most days and unlike you, I've yet to hear NPR promote the idea that workers should unite, shut down the factories/offices/fast food restaurants, and march on Washington with monkey wrenches, mousepads, and spatulas to overthrow the government. Until I do, I'll be convinced that NPR is anything but communist.

^^ What mack said. I don't really take any of Fiddlehead's threads too seriously. However, his facetious threads are, on occasion, very relevant to current discussion. They have also made me stop and think a few times about exactly what my views are on certain issues.

No, but I grew up in the 80's where I was taught that radio was supposed to be a medium for rock n roll. After all, I am driving and I do not want to get bored or angry. I want to enjoy myself.

However, I found that the internet is a great source of information, if properly accessed. One needs to question sources and even own's one beliefs. If one can do this, then the internet is all I need....and good ol' fashion books.
