There are some disturbed people in this thread. Um, the storm left significant devastation. Period. It's so obnoxious to state it's not a big deal while people sit on their dry buts in their own homes. One of the towns where I grew up is under water (moonachie). Seaside heights (my mom is 10 min away in toms river) is destroyed; point pleasant wrecked, Atlantic city (still under water?), areas on long island flooded, etc. What the he'll is wrong with people? Our society has become so perverse.
How can you say it's not political when people are sticking their hands in my pockets instead of taking care of themselves?
As soon as FEMA and the government gets its stinkin' hands out of my wallet, I'll start donating to the Red Cross. I'm not gonna donate twice, once by choice and once by force. Not gonna happen. You suckers who want to live off the government can sit there and whine all you want.
Well I was referring the OP's post of the destruction. I was referring to the 60, the 40+ people in the carribbean and the 20+ people so far in the states who have died in this storm. I just don't think this should be made into a political controversy. Probably should have typed that in my initial post.
There are certain members on this site (even some who have posted in this very topic) who seem to have a short term memory. When there was a natural or man made disaster, affecting their area (or maybe not impacting their area, maybe they just wanted to find something to ***** about again) that they chose to be really critical of the Administrations "slow or bad" response. I remember some wondering why the government wasn't more involved.

Well Firstly, to those who say that this storm was nothing, maybe to you who are use to hurricaines, it was nothing, but to is, it was and still is a mess.
Subway stations and lines are flooded in NYC because to this.
Here in Philly, non of our commuter raillines are running.
Our subways are trollies just opened up
Where's the outcry on the thread that leaped right out of bed to start politicizing this?
