I believe that any adult should be able to marry any other adult or adults. I support freedom and liberty for all individuals.

And the whole country should be organized around what you want.
Can't rep you again, but wanted to give you a for that one! How arrogant to think one should be able to redefine an institution thousands of years rich with tradition and meaning and purpose, simply because you want to .

Thanks, and agreed.

To paraphrase Bishop Fulton Sheen, it used to be that Catholics were the only ones to believe in papal infallibility, biblical inerrancy, and the Immaculate Conception. Now everyone believes he is infallible, inerrant, and immaculately conceived.

Which "rich tradition "? Women being owned by their husbands? Legally being able to rape your wife? Older men marrying young girls? The institution used to secure property and political power? Marriage only within ones race? Marriage only within ones religion? Brother marrying deceased brothers wife? Rapist marrying victim? Man marrying as many wives as he wants plus concubines? Man marrying step sister? Arranged marriage set up by parents?

Which tradition is the right one?

Marriage for love is a recent phenomenon. In this country, we have a constitution, this constitution says that all American citizens must be treated equally under the law. How is it being treated equally if some don't have access to the same legal protections that others are granted?

Especially considering cultures far older than ours were fully accepting of same sex marriages and unions. Greeks, Romans, even ancient Chinese participated in same sex marriages until Christianity told them it was a no-no. Whose changing the definition now?

These gay bashing trolls need to be banned. Getting pretty fed up with it. They seriously need a life or they need to come out of the closet.

You are clearly oblivious to what the "institution" of marriage actually has entailed throughout history. And guess what, you don't own a word. Traditions change all the time. Deal with it.

B.S.

Evidence, please.

The Greeks had a disgusting wink-wink policy towards pederasty under certain conditions, but did not condone same-sex "marriage".

The Romans? As degenerate as the Romans ended up, I wouldn't be surprised, but I certainly don't believe you. Please cough up the evidence.

The Chinese were never Christianized as a society, so your claim is false prima facie.
