Arizona is red and it's broke and just applied more taxes. I'd say our governor is as red neck as a red state could have and still, taxes and dept are part of the equation here.

But, she does shoot illegals. lol So your gun rights are intact. Also cuts state funded medical and education and gives it to experimental grants for business. So there's that. You know, republican stuff.

If you own a big company it's good for you here, if not or you just work for one, not so good, you can be fired for nothing. Good if you're rich, not so good if you are middle class. Same ole' story.

But.........red states are still in your business. It's not as freeing as you'd think. They still have to run a state and that involves all those things republicans hate like taxes, healthcare and education.

Most Californians are decent, hard working people. It's just that all we ever hear about is the freaks and nuts.
There are freaks and nuts here as well, they just shoot people.

I have found by doing my own research and living in two different red states that I can get better services and care for my special needs child in a red state.

I really find it interesting that when someone starts a thread about Red States the ignorant have to make their stupid comments. Most of the responses here are OK, but you have the three or four ignoramuses that can't keep their ignorance to themselves. One of them makes a stupid statement and another one swears to it. Damn. And these idiots think they are smart.

well before anyone can answer your question, you must define red and blue state

the 'red' states as some call them are not 'red' at the state and local level

the "red" states also have most of the farming. most of the military posts, and a good portion of the national parks

btw...many of the "red" states (based on POTUS election) are very BLUE in their own states...for example:

let's see.... 'red" state......north carolina.......a DEMOCRAT STRONG HOLD for the last 100 years

let's see.... 'blue' state....... New york...........the only thing blue in the state is NYC

highest dropout rates....nevada and illinois...very blue

texas also PRODUCES 40% of the ENERGY that California USES...yet

cali is the second biggest carbon emiter.....behind...texas

the top 15 states in the Nation that consume the MOST in welfare. 13-of-15 are DEMOCRAT states;

The BIGGEST US WELFARE STATES
