I'm not a fan of Christie but I believe he's doing what he was elected to do. If I were an NJ resident at this time and he was more worried about the national election than what was going on at home, I would be angry. His focus is exactly where it should be. I have new found respect for him after the past few days. He really cares about the people of NJ and he's doing what needs to be done, giving credit where he feels it is due, and doing the best he can under the circumstances.

I think he is proving that the people elected the right man for the job. I think that something we can all strive for in life, no matter what your job is.

He and John McCain are now my two favorite Republicans because they are not lemmings and do not care about the party line.

That's the mainstream republican attitude.

We have a Governor in MN like this. Mark Dayton was by all accounts an average at best US Senator but he is shining as the Governor.
Yeah. I really think Christie, at least at this time, is devoted to his state.

Being from eastern SD, we do get a lot of MN news here, and I have heard good things about Dayton. Good guys never seem to like the DC arena.

that didnt take long lol
its funny that even romney doesn't have a problem with christie in this case, Romney camp stands by Christie for working with Obama during storm | The Ticket - Yahoo! News perhaps he is not as dumb as the other republicans who are bashing christie cuz he tryin to be careful not to say the wrong thing b4 the election
honestly, what did they expect him to do? turn the president down and tell him to f off, we dont need yo help or what
From a right wing point of view, that might have been the best course of action for Christie. Right wing conservatives don't particularly care for their front men to stray from "the agenda", which is to remove Obama from office by whatever means possible. New Jersey be dammed, there's a bigger picture to see here. It's not about the country, it's about the politics and who RUNS the country. Christie may have given Obama the bump he needs. It shows the world that the government is functioning in a stellar manner and the Obama Administration is in charge. It also shows Christie is an excellent governor for his state. A take charge, get the job done, kind of guy.

Ha! very tough beans for the repubs just before a very tight election.

same here, i like how christie repeatedly said that "he doesn't give a damn and could care less" about people upset with him praising and actively working with the president, he said he's not gon apologize and he meant what he said, and he spoke the truth Christie: I don't give 'a damn' about presidential politics right now - The Hill's Video
"I've got 2.4 million people out of power. I've got devastation on the shore. I've got floods in the northern part of my state. If you think right now I give a damn about presidential politics then you don't know me."

I love SD. My wife and I lived near Watertown in the mid 80's for 4 years. We loved those sunsets and the wide open freedom. Beautiful state.

Well I read it and the only Republicans that I saw that had a problem with it were an obscure law professor and Rush Limbaugh. Rush Limbaugh is drug addled idiot.

What I saw and see is 2 politicians doing photo ops. They are cooperating to further each others agenda. This is a win win for both. Christie looks good, Obama looks good. Typical politician manipulation. This is what politicians do best. I don't condemn them for it any more than I do a skunk because it stinks. They are what they are and that is career politicians. People getting helped is a bi-product of their scam. Sometimes it does benefit the common person, but make no mistake, this is about making themselves look good.

"We are not going to tolerate red tape, we are not going to tolerate bureaucracy," Obama said. "And I've instituted a 15-minute rule, essentially, on my team. You return everybody's phone calls in 15 minutes, whether it's the mayor's, the governor's, county officials.
"If they need something, we figure out a way to say yes."
