And it really goes back to what is NYC's "Fair Share". Would that be 25%, 10% or 0% ?
We're not talking the 9th ward of NO, NYC is a very wealthy city. There is no reason they should not cover the 25% mark.
They are requesting the full aid available to them under FEMA regulations, which in this circumstance includes 100% for emergency repairs and debris removal.
Another one who knoes the cost of everything and the value of nothing. Pray you don't live through anything like this.
And someone who apparently has a crystal ball nobody else has. It's an example of the "American Taliban." People who claim to love America, but who hate Americans.
People who do not support Americans in crisis should not be afforded the rights of Americans. Go start your own third world country.
I'm not talking about the people quibbling over how much should go to relief efforts or what should be restored, but those who have a "*********, it's not my problem" attitude and there are a lot of you on here.
We are not a dictatorship, communist country, or under imperial rule. That support should be VOLUNTARY. Forced aid is theft.
"New York state officials have already started to apply pressure on the federal government to cover a greater share of the rebuilding cost than is provided under the law, seeking 100 percent reimbursement for major infrastructure projects, compared with the 75 percent automatically provided in major disasters. State officials have also talked of an ambitious new sea wall system, with a possible price tag of at least $10 billion, that could protect New York from a future superstorm."
" “FEMA begs people to call and apply even if they are not sure they are eligible," the Inspector General’s report said, quoting agency employees, about the push to sign up people for disaster aid."

New York Times....
10 billion will end up being 500 billion before all is said and done..........if we're lucky. Shumer will be all over this one.
Except the sea wall is not being requested under the FEMA request. It's to fix existing infrastructure only.
Take a look at the very specific information I posted earlier and you can see in great detail exactly what will and won't be covered, and the definitions of everything
