Children are precious and must be protected at all costs. This is what a good father does. The victim has said later in life that his fathers actions empowered him and helped him heal, and now Jodi is an advocate for other victims and defender of children. As for predators, they deserve no sympathy and are the lowest of the low.
I'd expect nothing less from any parent whose child was raped. A beatiful quick ending to a horrible tragedy!
Read the article and see if you recognize the striking similarities with another group, one that has gained much more traction. I will point out that I realize homosexuals engage in sexual behavior with other consenting adults. That is important. But the similarities between pedophiles and homosexuals are still interesting. Maybe I'm completely wrong, but like the article mentions about pedophiles - that they have a fear of adult relationships - I've wondered if that might be true about homosexuals. Obviously, an intra-sexual relationship isn't as complex as a inter-sexual relationship, so couldn't it be possible homosexuals are intermediate to pedophiles, but ultimately suffering from the same disorder and on a different part of its spectrum?

The notion that homosexuals have a problem with adult relationships is absurd. Homosexuals have no more trouble with adult relationships than straight people. They just want to have relationships with members of the same sex.
That said, pedophiles deserve sympathy to the extent they do the work necessary to avoid victimizing children.
Some pedophiles were once victims when they were children. This is why the victims need to be identified and given counseling to help them avoid becoming those monsters. To have such desires is one thing. To act upon them is criminal. If you have such feelings, seek help. Break the chain of abuse.

Pedophiles are most often survivors of childhood sexual assault themselves. Many people are abused as children and never go on to hurt others. For reasons that aren't quite clear, others who are abused go on to become rapists and pedophiles.

Homosexuals are no more pedophiles than heterosexuals it is a condition that effects few in both species.
