Many gas stations have long lines or are entirely out of product.
The ability to raise prices in the face of increased demand encourages conservation along with discouraging casual purchases and hoarding.
It also removes the profit motive that drives quick resupply.

Yep, if they were charging $10 a gallon everyone would have the gas they need to get through the emergency.

limiting it to 5 gallons a person would work out much better than making it $10/gallon.

$10 gas would not ease the demand in my neighborhood. There's simply not enough gas stations with power. Thats the isdue.

no matter how much profit theyre making, they cant resupply fast enough. there are not enough stations with power, thats the issue.

something like 80% of stations are closed w no power here in nj
