Gender pay gap shouldn't even be an issue. A private sector employer should be able to pay each employee whatever he/she feels like. Are people actually suggesting that the government should get involved in the gender pay gap and pour resources into "solving" it? When the government can tell each employer what to pay their workers we're flirting dangerously with socialism and communism. If you don't like what you're paid and the employer won't do anything about it, time to find another job or start your own business. Simple stuff.

My company was sued for gender discrimination. It went to court, they proved their case, and the co had to cough ~12 million. So, people who are receiving similar performance reviews with similar levels of education with the same years of experience are being paid the same or within a range. If an employee is lagging they are canned.

For the most part women do not do...or can't do...the work that MEN do. Some of the stinky/icky jobs that men excel at are also the best paying.
