I don't see a big difference in those numbers. The ones since 98 all have the little star, which means that several large states data was not included, such as CA!

To me it seems ridiculous and redundant - if someone is going to have a surgery, then they have already received quite a bit of preparing from the medical staff and through their own personal research. Because you think it is necessary for a woman who chooses to abort to watch an abortion take place beforehand makes no sense. Your argument holds no water.

Actually most Dr's DO show videos of the procedure before it is done for many different surgeries. My mother had to watch a video showing exactly what was going to be done before her back surgery that was not elective, but necessary and she had to sign 3 different forms that said she fully understood the procedure. Heck yea, If I was having surgery I would want to know exactly what they were going to do to me! Sure it holds water, just not in a bucket you like.

One hundred and seventy nine thousand, six hundred and ninety one is not a large number to you? That is the difference in stats from 97 when all states were included.

Uhhh, hello....I think I mentioned I have 2 little darlings. I now, more than ever (as I have 2 daughters), support a woman's right to choose. But I agree with the other poster, if you don't believe in abortion...have 4, 5, 10 kids...I'm happy for you. I would NEVER walk up to a pregnant woman and say 'hmmm, have you considered abortion?'....
Women are smart. If you can't trust them to make a decision...why on earth would you trust them with a child?

Nope, I do not think 179.691 is a LARGE number, considering the total is well over 1.180.000 in both. And that was the year with the biggest "discrepancy".

I wasn't speaking of you, I apologize again if you thought that. Unfortunately, that is one of the first things womens health care clinics do ask a woman that has just found out they are pregnant. And I agree with you, I would never walk up to a pregnant woman and ask "have you thought about adoption". I am not saying take a way a right to choose (unless it is to choose to use abortion as a form of birth control, that I am firmly against) but I am advocating INSURING complete education.
Trusting all women with children??? Ok, that is a whole different thread topic, and if you look at the news and stats, you are right, many women should not be allowed to have and keep children, but that doesn't mean I don't want the child to have life.
