1% of all abortions occur because of rape or incest; 6% of abortions occur because of potential health problems regarding either the mother or child, and 93% of all abortions occur for social reasons (i.e. the child is unwanted or inconvenient).

Since you seem intent on expounding statistical data, how many in that group of 93% used some form of contraception that might have failed? Further, please categorize the different success/failure rates of different birth control devices - oral, IUD, sponge, condom, etc. Surely you weren't implying that all those 93% women were just screwing around with a devil-may-care attitude about birth control.

You think these women are not aware that pregnancy may occur if you have sex? If they have an abortion because they got caught it is still using abortion as birth control.
That is also my last post on this thread because I have debated this before and was really interested in what people thought about the documentary.

That is SO ridiculous. Do (some) men molest children? Maybe we should outlaw male teachers...Do (some) people abuse power? Maybe we should be anarchists...

So true. I am glad someone keeps dipping back into this thread to infuse it with a little bit of rational perspective...

It appears that the anti-choice league has thrown up the white flag and skipped off - I suppose I would do the same if I ran out of gas on my argument.

Is it defeat, fatigue or dismissive?

I think a bit of fatigue... it's tiring to discuss something with people who refuse to understand that someone could possible hold another point of view, as reasoned as it may be. It's sort of like banging your head against a brick wall...
Some people quite simply lack empathy for others. They never know what sort of circumstances life may throw at them...but still they can't see past their own life's experience, to realize that other people's experience may be different. One day, some of these people may realize that life is not so black & white/ right or wrong; when the foundation falls out from underneath the glass houses that they've built for themselves.

Thanks for your response.
Empathy is something not everyone can relate it; sympathy moreso.
