Is it not heartless to wish that women not be allowed to have abortions legally? Would you all rather they bleed to death back-alley style?

That's where their choice comes into play. If they want to risk bleeding to death in some back alley or take responsibility for the possible by-product of having sex. At least she has a choice, the baby has none.

I believe someone said men shouldn't comment because it isn't their body, so I wonder how a woman would want to see another woman bleed to death in a back alley because she had sex, got pregnant, obviously didn't use good judgment and decided to have an abortion?

Certainly not me. I am not forcing anyone to take a walk down a back alley. I will leave that up to the woman. Personal responsibility is a wonderful thing.

So now you are agreeing that it is more humane to ensure women have access to abortions legally instead of outlawing them? I'm confused.

That is so melodramatic.Years ago women were not educated on birth control, un-married pregnat were shunned and many times dis-owned, adoption was not really talked about sex education was not yet talked about in schools. Yes, years ago when abortion was Illegal, women were bleeding to death from abortions. That was before education, and society has finally progressed to a point that an un-married pregnant women is not ostrasized. If there were restrictions on abortions which made it impossible for women to use abortion as a means of birth control then women would be turning to adoption as the alternative. I believe we would see a drop in teenage pregnancy and I also believe we would see a drop in STD's. I believe women would take better care with their bodies. IMO

Not so, if a woman takes responsibility, uses contraception, and that contraception fails, if the opposers of abortion had their way, you would be forcing her to either walk down that alley or face 9 months of an unwanted pregnancy. Being heartless is not a wonderful thing.

I am for abortions only if the mother will die if she tries to carry the baby. I am not for abortion because of rape. My best friend is the product of a rape and was given up for adoption. Her birth mother had 9 children and I helped her find her family and it was then she found out why she was put up for adoption. She has been reunited with all her brothers and sisters and is also a wonderful mother herself.

So because of one situation you happen to have personal knowledge of you'd force every woman pregnant by rape to carry to term? I think that is at the extreme of being heartless.
