Red staters, if you don't like the election results, by all means, SECEDE FROM THE UNION! I would be the first to vote Texas, Arizona, and the bible belt out. We chose "socialism" and a bunch of us voted for gay marriage and legalized marijuana, while Arkansas didn't even want medical marijuana.

MA is pretty much wall to wall cities and suburban sprawl. Too many people in too little area. Those sorts of areas always go blue, probably because living in cities dulls the mind (for reference: How the city hurts your brain - The Boston Globe ).
Yeah, in Oklahoma's biggest city, Oklahoma City, there are a few more blue precincts this time around.

They don't seem to realize that without farm subsidies, prices of food would just go up. So, they'd still be subsidizing the red state bible belt. Well, if they value eating that is...

I agree. I think both red states AND blue states should secede and NULLIFY every single unconstitutional federal law passed since 9/11. I'd LOVE to know that Homeland Security and the TSA were banned from my state and that the Patriot Act and the NDAA weren't recognized here.
Then I'd like to see Fluoridation of water banned and stringent food labeling including not only geneticaly engineered ingredients listed as such but ALSO which ingredients if any are irradiated.
I'd also like to see a new currency started in my state.
Needless to say NO DRONES and NO CHEMTRAILS would be permitted in or over this state!

It's worse than that even. All of the people in our region who don't want to work to make their own way would wind up moving to the blue country anyway. Wouldn't need to subsidize crap, they would attract all of the leeches to the mother ship.

Are you saying you won't all get up in arms and start shooting at us if we secede from the Union? Because we tried that once before and the big bullies fought an entire war rather than let us do that. You know, the War of Northern Aggression?
I was a little concerned the last time Obama won and this was being talked about. Now that we have North Carolina back in the good red color, that would be fine with me. I just don't want to end up on the side of the Blue States because I have very little in common with communism or anyone that likes communism.

So, with all the farms in California, Washington, Oregon, Illinois, Maine, Iowa, Minnesota etc we couldn't feed ourselves?
JAPAN FEEDS ITSELF FINE, AND IT HAS WAY LESS FARMLAND THAN THE AVERAGE CALIFORNIA ALONE!
Plus, you could always gasp, trade with the neighboring red state nation.
I'm just saying we separate and enter a loose coalition, not build a wall around each other and kill anything that enters.
