You're the one who is whining. In the mean time, in South Jersey my 70 year old mother has been living without power, taking care of her 95 year old mother, and making do with her fireplace and grille. Obviously not as important as your serious internet business.

What do I plan on doing?

Finishing college, looking for a job if I can't secure one before graduation, looking for opportunities where I can use my skills and degree by volunteering (e.g. Promoting financial literacy, volunteering at a local prison, helping out as an ESL teacher at the local library), and trying to do what I can as an American.

So nothing changes my plan, not even who is sitting in the Oval Office...

I will keep working, have a kid hopefully, possibly buy a house, etc. I'm not one for doom and gloom, regardless of who ends up as president.

Personally I will start stocking up on food even more, time to buy some weapons as well...50 gallon barrels of food and water and pretty much just ignoring the stupidity that we call the voters in this country...neither the republicans nor the democrats can get anything right and neither is gonna care when the country collapses but they will blame each others while people fend for themselves...I suggest everyone get ready for one hell of a 4 years if not longer...

As I sat here at my laptop last night waiting for the results in Florida and one or more other key toss-up states to provide a path to victory for Romney, and then realizing that Florida was going to be lost to Obama along with the election, I came to understand that the nature of elections in America had changed and would never be the same again. Campaigns in America will no longer be about candidates, platforms, issues, ideas or what is best for the nation. In the future, campaigns will be only about satisfying the desires of the recipient class which has taken full control.

Romney had it wrong about the 47% who receive from government and therefore will never vote for him. It's really a higher percentage, and with that, as we witnessed last night, the recipient class has become the voting majority. Concern over Obama's spending along with the future well-being of the US is non-existent with those who supported Obama. We've crossed a line and I see no way back.

Many of those 47% supported Romney. They don't pay fed income taxes. They're on their socialist social security and medicaid/care or they're on their veterans benefits. Romney lost the independents he needed. That was the issue.

Well , I headed on out over the river and yep, things looked the same they have looked in Niagara Falls for the last 50 years. Dingey, dirty and downright disgusting in places. There were the same old bums hanging around downtown, a few worn out looking hookers walking up and down, a few Canadian plated cars stocking up on cheap booze, a few more for sale signs hanging on $15,000 mansions. So, I think I'll just stay over here in God's country and continue to watch the USA stagnate and get poorer and poorer. This will continue until you guys smarten up and get rid of those forces of reaction that will continue to hold the country hostage to their narrow special interests. Once they are forever banished I look forward to going to a Niagara Falls NY that is as beautiful, wonderful and safe and happy as Niagara Falls Ontario Canada.

I'm not going for all that but I certainly understand what you're saying.

The people who put Obama in power are simply the people who haven't ever had to deal with the Pre-Reagan revolution. They've never known an unstable government flailing back and forth just to stay afloat. They've never seen a flip like this:

Only to find out that the person they elected isn't at all who they thought he/her was...

It's a learning process and there's no doubt in my mind that liberals will think they've got some sort of mandate or something and they'll completely overstep their bounds.

Provided Americans have dumbing TV programs, internet and are getting fat on 3,500 calories today, there will be no such collapse.

But, take away one of those three, and prepare for chaos.

Tomorrow I'll go out and clean the three dog runs that I'd put off doing as I first prepared for the possibility of a long power outage and then was busy catching up on other things. I'll go down to the county pound and pull 3 dogs who are scheduled to be killed tomorrow unless we (my humane society) can pull them and take them in to foster care.

I may actually adopt one of them as my personal dog since it is a senior black dog, which is what I now exclusively adopt.

Hopefully the other two will go to other foster people come the weekend when their current fosters go to new, forever homes as they have adoptions pending.

In other words I'll continue to do what I love best - enjoy my retirement years and try to do some good and make a small difference in my local community.
