For all the post-election analysis, the only truly objective point of view is from outside the country. No one outside the U.S. is more greatly affected by yesterday than Israel, and today they are not holding back. Here's the best written, clearest analysis of the election I've read.

70 percent of Jewish Americans voted for Obama, so it seems they don't agree with Netanyahu either.

And why should the views of people who live in a foreign country (in this case Israel) take precedence over the views of American citizens? Aren't Republicans constantly telling us that Obama has sold out U.S. sovereignty because he cares more about foreigners than Americans? What makes Israel so special that in this case Republicans think that their desires should trump the views of Americas?

"Obama’s victory demonstrates that the state of Israel must take care of its own interests. We cannot rely on anyone but ourselves. Obama has hurt the United States by his naďve leadership in foreign policy, which prefers the Arab world over the Western world, along with Israel. The state of Israel will not capitulate before Obama.”

Oh, puhleeze.

We have codified that little sandtrap for far too long. Our nation benefits nothing from the undeserved and unwarranted favoritism we grant Israel. Why doesnt Europe, which is closer get involved more instead of everything being our responsibility-now annoying.
