I feel for them. I've been through a home-totalling, life-changing disaster. Trust me 100% when I say FEMA is worthless. Anyone who depends on or waits for help from the government is dumber than a box of pebbles. I would help them if I could. But damn..........if they're dumb enough to think the feds are there to help them, well........they're starting to wake up!
I second that. FEMA shows up with clipboards and paperwork.
Thank God the neighbors show up with chainsaws.

After Andrew hit south Florida there were more locals driving down there with pickup trucks full of stuff people needed before FEMA could even get set up with their tables and clipboards.

Mayor Bloomberg tells New Yorkers to "stay off roads" | GlobalPost

""With winds picking up to 30-, 40-, 50-mile-per-hour gusts," he added, "our fear is that if people are out and about they could be hit by flying debris. We would urge people to stay in their houses, stay home, and let the storm pass.""

Nor'easter snow layers Sandy destruction; more evacuations, more power outages - U.S. News
40mph wind gusts?? That is what closes everything down? Hell they don't even close the schools for that.

Ask the Staten Island Borough President. He said it's like a 3rd world country. Unless your saying he's lying. Is that what your saying?

The Superintendent of my school district closed the high school as a shelter for the Red Cross because she didn't want the students to have to see "the crazies". Of course, there were no students in the building at the time, last week. No school this week either, power still out.

Those storm-related people need to march to Bloomberg's office in Manhattan. Or better yet visit the White House. Wanna bet whether clown Obozo will greet them and listen to their complaints? Hell no!

Same applies to Hoboken, NJ. March on over to Chris Christie's office.

FEMA = good job! Ha!!!
Clown Obozo = good job! You must be STUPID!!!

Relief workers are supposed to be providing relief. I fish in 40mph wind gusts. These people get paid to do a job like was mentioned earlier. If a wind gust is gonna send em running for cover then we need to find some folks who want to do their job.

Damn straight. He should get his butt cold and sit in the white house freezing for 11 days and maybe he would get a clue! No gas, no food , no power and freezing temperatures for hundreds of thousands of people.

Think this through (critical thinking)! Would a rescue effort by FEMA be held in an office where the disaster victims must go to for rescue?! No, any reasonable person would realize that people need rescuing in the field! Hello! If a person can get to an office, they do not need rescue. Get it?

And Staten Island, much of the Jersey Shore and South Shore of Long Island are just like a 3rd world nation right now. Where's the UN to help those folks? Too bad the UN didn't fall into the East River in the storm.

Addendum - Not that I want to see blue helmets helping out. I'm pretty sure it was the UN that brought cholera to Haiti after the earthquake.
