The United States Flag Code stipulates that as the symbol of a living country, the flag is considered in itself a living thing and should be properly displayed and cared for. The code outlines the proper ways to display the American flag.
Raise the flag briskly. Lower it ceremoniously.
Never allow the flag to touch the ground or floor.
Do not fly the flag in bad weather, unless it is an all-weather flag.
The flag can only be flown at night if properly illuminated. Otherwise, it should only be flown from sunrise to sunset.
The flag should always be allowed to fall free.
The flag should never be used to carry, store, or deliver anything.
Never fly the flag upside down except to signal an emergency.
I don't see a thing about when the flag can be burned, or walked on, or used as toilet paper. I'd say the op has more respect for this country than many in here. At least he understands what an emergency is.
In that case, why do you accept the electoral vote in 2008 and 2012, but seem to reject it in the case of the 2000 election?
For that matter, in 2004, the elected president won both the popular and electoral votes, and since he was the same person who won the 2000 election, and you support the popular vote, that person also won the 2000 election too, since our election system is based on the electoral vote, right?
When did I ever say that 2000 wasn't legitimate? Personally, I thought it was.
Given the results of the election, I took down the American flag from my house and threw it away (along with the state flag). I was intrigued by the McDonalds who flew the US flag upside down and at half mast as a distress signal.
I have a fairly large farm which has had the American flag flying over it. The US is finished ($24 trillion in debt when Obama is out of office) and will therefore fly the American flag upside down on my farm.
They should now fly "The Jolly Roger" over the white house.

So you support democracy when you get your way....
But when you don't get your way.... You throw a temper tantrum....

Thumbs WAY up..........I am ashamed to be an Ameritard!
The USAtard is the most corrupt country in the UNIVERSE...ruled over by the most insane and corrupt Scumaticians money can buy.
Trashing the flag like Bill Ayers did in a alley way is o.k. with the libotards . I personally wouldn't its the symbol of free speech the freedom of expressing ones freewill.
Not with this LIBURUL IT AIN'T.

Why don't you read the thread and find the post where the person said he took it down and threw it into the trash.
