"The layoffs at the West Ridge Mine are effective immediately, according to UtahAmerican Energy Inc., a subsidiary of Murray Energy Corp. They were announced in a short statement made public Thursday, two days after Obama won re-election.
The layoffs are necessary because of the president's "war on coal," the statement said. The slogan is one used frequently during the election by Murray Energy CEO Robert Murray, who was an ardent supporter of Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
In its statement, UtahAmerican Energy blames the Obama administration for instituting policies that will close down "204 American coal-fired power plants by 2014" and for drastically reducing the market for coal."
War on Coal = Switching to Natural Gas, because it's cheaper, cleaner, and abundant............
That site also lists the plans by other retailers to hire, totaling thus far 463,000 (yes, all seasonal, but if the economy were that much in the pits, then the number would probably be far less).
What is this? Ford announced yesterday that they have hired 5,200 new workers this year, with 1,200 for a new shift planned for next year.
Paaleeze, businesses are pro business, period. They are not pro republican or democrat, they make their decisions based on the business needs. To think otherwise, is very, very naive or perhaps FOX like.
Many of the companies laying off workers will soon be advertising 28 hour per week jobs. To avoid Obamacare, some will shift from full time workers to part time. Others will get below the 50 employee limit or just not expand to above 50. And they're doing so now because the numbers have to be at that level for 12 months prior to the 2014 full implementation of Obamacare.
Some of these layoffs are not related to Obamacare, but you're kidding yourself if you think none of them are.
This is so typical. Whenever leftist don't like the message, they ask, "Do you have a real source?"
This is the result of effective brainwashing. They are not taught to think. There heads are void of brain power. They are noting but dupes of the left. Free thought is something unheard of in liberal circles. The Party's "talking points" are the only truth, and they haven't intelligence enough to dig beneath the surface to find out if what they are being told is true.
Although I didn't go through each and every one of your links, they appear to represent companies that are hiring in spite of Obama, not because of Obama - which means they would have hired no matter who became the next POTUS. There are MANY companies laying off workers in spite of this too. I didn't even list those, since they are not applicable to this thread.

Of course businesses are pro business. Who said otherwise?
This one kills me:
Its a tweet from this girl @Raised_Right
My dad's stadium/golf course lighting business has 55 employees. He too, will have to lay employees off due to Obamacare. Can't afford it.
A stadium/golf course lighting business is a completely unstainable consumption based business that got us into trouble in the first place. Why would you be stupid enough to grow a completely unsustainable flukey business like this to 55 employees in the first place. I guarantee this type of business would have never existed during the Reagan years
You mean like the Solar industry? I mean really, Golf Course lighting is after all a much loved green job right?
