Almost half of all the income generated in Leslie County Virginia is from government programs, yet Romney received almost 90% vote in that county. I'm not denying that people on welfare supported Obama, just illustrating that many voted for Romney. See for yourself

Some of them are which is why it's incredibly dumb for any candidate to pigeon hole people like Romney did. His stupid 47% column (of which was so incorrect anyway) included a lot of poor, bumpkin, welfare receiving folks who vote straight republican.
I don't have my link handy but Alexandra Pelosi did a very funny documentary clip on rural voters who are on the dole who would never in a million years vote for Obama. Fairly, she showed a clip fo the "black welfare queens" voting for Obama. But for republicans on C-D to assume that all welfare recipients voted for Obama is just dead wrong. But that republican information bubble gets them everytime.
Maybe they voted for Romney because they know either way their "free stuff" isn't getting taken away. It would be political suicide and everyone in D.C. knows it.
Or, how's about they are smart enough that they didn't believe the campaign propaganda that all would be taken away from them under Romney ?
