You're saying that not one business went under during Bush?
Your paranoia is astounding , I do not see one mention of Obama in the post.

Even though Tastykake quality has slipped significantly over the last decade or so, its still way above anything Hostess or Drakes can offer. Or you have Entenmann's if you the really good stuff.
No more Twinkies, I just don't see that as a loss.

i was always going to try one of those deep fried twinkies that i saw in vegas, but i guess it is going to be too late for that now.

i hope that another american bakery can take over where they left off, and those workers don't have too hard a time finding other jobs.

This is just a sad situation all around. I hate to see people lose their jobs, and I've been pretty adamant about that in other threads. However; the union should have bit the bullet, and taken the pay cuts. At least people would still have their jobs. They aren't doing a very good job of representing their fellow employees.

Default Hostess to liquidate after 'insufficient' worker return

Hostess to liquidate after 'insufficient' worker return

Honestly, do not see why Hostess would make the politics forum unless there are those that want to blame 20 years of mismanagement on the President somehow.

So companies are now doing what they are doing "for revenge" ?
Really..it's turned from numbers and economics to emotion ?

Companies don't act on emotions folks. They act on their numbers and ability to do business and make a profit.

I'm not blaming this on the President, just the politics of the Left. The President has nothing to do with this beyond the fact he supports union thuggery.

I tend to agree. However, I have a feeling that even if the union workers had accepted the cuts, Hostess would still be in trouble and would have been gone in a couple of years. A company that files for bankruptcy twice in a span of six years is not doing something right.

Again, I also think that changing tastes are dooming the company (plus, other bakers, like the Mexican giant Grupo Bimbo, also sell twinkie-like pastries. If there is a demand for deep-fried twinkies, someone will fill the void).
