Cool! Now I'm going to whitehouse.gov to create petitions demanding that Texas and Mississippi (and all of the other states that have banned it) recognize same-sex marriage.

Then I'll come to C-D and breathlessly report that "Texas wants to legalize same-sex marriage." Yay!

Oh, wait... creating (or even signing) a petition requires a whitehouse.gov username and password. No way do I want Comrade BaraKKK Hussein Mohammed "I Love Mao" ibn-O'Bummer to have my personal info -- unlike all those poor suckers who've signed all those secession petitions.

Never mind.

it's not the "47 states" wanting to secede...it's people from 47 states wanting to secede.

There is a difference you know?

Oh, and since the OP used the word "indivisible," thus implying that it's OK to disparage that part of the oh-so-sacred Pledge of Allegiance: does that mean we can now safely omit "under God" if we feel like it?

Exactly, misrepresentation from the right is all they have now that they lost what should have been an easy win.

Good. I'm a Democrat with libertarian tendencies and I am all for secession. The United States is unhappy like most shotgun marriages.
