Actually similar things DID happen during the Bush years.
There were something like 7 attacks on US consulates and embassies during the Bush administration - resulting in several times the 4 deaths in Benghazi.
The GOP are just "fishing" for a scandal.
2002: U.S. Consulate In Karachi, Pakistan, Attacked; 10 Killed, 51 Injured.
2004: U.S. Embassy Bombed In Uzbekistan.
2004: Gunmen Stormed U.S. Consulate In Saudi Arabia.
2006: Armed Men Attacked U.S. Embassy In Syria.
2007: Grenade Launched Into U.S. Embassy In Athens.
2008: Rioters Set Fire To U.S. Embassy In Serbia.
2008: Ten People Killed In Bombings At U.S. Embassy In Yemen.

So, apparently you don't CARE about the deaths. Your sole reason for "outrage" is because you don't like the Administrations' explanation for the attack.

I never said I didn't care. I said the situations are different.
I am outraged that ANY attacks happened.
I am equally outraged that this administration lied to the American people about the attack.
I guess the fact that SH used WMDs on his own people wasn't enough for most to believe that he had them?

Are you claiming that WMD's were found during the invasion? You should read the book. Reminds you of what has been forgotten. It gives background as to the Bush administration and the events that transpired from 9/11 up to going into Iraq. I think my recollection has been sharpened and more informed based on the book, and is more accurate that what you "recall". Do you recall when Blix and Al Baradei went in to inspect Iraq and what transpired as a result of the inspections? One detail people probably forgot, but a very important detail. Do you recall how Bush sold it to congress? Bush gave himself executive power to declare war on Iraq. SH destroyed/dismantled what were considered by the inspectors WMDs in their presence, which was not very much. Included was a drone - a drone made of balsa wood and another piece of equipment that was so rusted it was total garbage and useless.
