Second greatest ally to the US in the Middle East and the US is Israel's ONLY ally. The UK is the closest ally to the US internationally. The US (President) and the UK (Prime Minister) don't make a move without consulting each other. Having said that, there is some concern in the UK over William Hague, UK foreign secretary and "Friend of Israel" and his position which leans to aiding Israel regarding Palestine. Good luck with that - it would have to pass Parliament. Parliament understands the repercussions of supporting Israel (as so many other countries understand, other than the US) and fight Israel's war and how that assistance could expand to other countries getting involved. At the end of the day, it wouldn't be Israel pulling other countries into what could turn out to be WWIII. That would fall to the US leaving NATO countries no choice but be forced to join the fray.

The truth is Israel has no "allies" other than the US and has lost any "support" (which would not include going to war for Israel) from other countries that it may have had in the past.

Israel has conveniently not pushed for NATO membership and members of NATO are quite happy with that. NON-NATO countries are "invited" into the fold, but they have no voting power, no say, nor are they obligated to support NATO countries in times of war. Yet, they can ask NATO members for assistance. How convenient is that?

Quote:
But it is highly unlikely that Israel’s full integration into the Alliance is feasible from NATO’s standpoint. The Alliance would not be happy to apply Article 5 of the NATO charter, which would oblige its members to fight for Israel if it were attacked by any of its many potential enemies in an endemically dangerous region.

Nor is it clear that membership would be in the best interest of Israel, a country whose defense doctrine has been always based on self-reliance and freedom of maneuver in security matters. Israel’s unwritten alliance with the United States is a more convenient alternative.

Here is a list of coalition countries involved in the fight on terrorism. Please note that Israel is NOT on the list. The list consists of NATO and non-NATO countries.

U.S. Central Command | Coalition Countries

Other than Israel being the largest donators of humanitarian aid, clearly it isn't enough to get countries to stand with Israel and Palestine and Iran, or probably any other war that erupts involving Israel.

You don't own anyones life but your own. Risking the lives of our young americans over nothing to do with protecting our borders comes rather easily to you doesn't it?
So when are you going over to help? Shameful are the ones who want others to do the dirty work for them.

I think the U.S. should stay away from other nations' conflicts.... We don't want another 9/11, or people hate us Americans for supporting and favoring a nation over another!
We should indeed support Israel, our only true ally in the Middle East. It would be crazy of us not to!

Shameful that the very same people who want to sit in their general's armchair probably never served in the US military themself to defend their own country from terrorism, yet are brave enough to send someone to make the ultimate sacrifice to a foreign country to do what they want done.

As if they would be getting a personalized thank you note from Nettie for supporting Israel. I'm sure Israel would more than welcome them to give a hand.

We've been supporting Israel for decades. Every year the US gives them over $1 billion dollars, as we do Egypt who is considered an ally.

The nation of Israel and the Israeli people never expected The United States of America to fight it's battles " they have won every ( Battle And War ) that they have ever been in (All By Themselves) "......
