I work in the industry, I know...medical providers are traditionally well behind in technology. So yeah, it is right. It usually takes a change in the law for them to upgrade...which is exactly what this is.
I see.
So you know this dentist personally and he told you all of this, huh?
Amazing how you guys will believe anything someone says so long as they're a "business owner."
I have to pay any costs that are passed along to me. And I pay plenty. So it IS relevant to me.
You know what I meant. You are not directly paying that excise tax (unless you are in a medical field).
Reminds me of the tobacco tax being taxed out of the stratosphere.
Only choice for smokers (cigarette and cigar) is to pay the tax, like ransom, quit smoking,
or engage in illegal activity.
I know, let's tax everybody to death. Death and taxes; the only sure things in life...

I don't need to know that dentist specifically, you were generalizing that these types of software updates were done much more frequently. I'm telling you from my personal work experience that you are wrong as it applies to the literally thousands upon thousands of dentists that my work schedule and time-demand requirements have been subject to. I know how often and why they update their software, and the answer is as infrequently as possible, and usually only of a change to state or federal law requires it.
None of this is political as you are trying to imply, unfortunately its a black and white fact that I have dealt with in my every day work life, simple as that.

If he's passing the tax on to me, a fact that we've all established, then what the hell are you whining about?
But again, if I get sent a bill from my dentist explicitly billing me for Obamacare, he'll get my check MINUS that charge and they can just take me to court for it if they want it so bad.
But likely you will find that such tax wil be possed on by all eve if hiden by genrally rasing fees.Otehr than that a dentist you don't want to work on your teeth. This isn't just a device tax on dentist devices.Nothig is free uness your totoally depend andf then its medicaid only hs your not allowed to joi pools even if you want.

No need to take you to court, quicker and easier to send a bill collector after you I'm sure. You would really risk destroying your credit over a $50 fee?

You would be surprised at how many people don't give a crap about credit. Well, maybe not surprised, I mean... look at the state of the country right now.

There is no risk involved anymore. If it's under 100, I don't think they can fight you.

First, you will probably never be seeing that dentist again, (wouldn't that be his loss)
and two,
I'm not a proponent of frivolous lawsuits. They just clog
an already flooded legal system.

I won't pay $50.00 for my dentist to score political points. If he wants $50 bucks, then he should go work for it like everyone else.
If you aren't capable of robbing me in the streets, i'll be goddamn if I let you do it in a punk ass dentist office. Sorry. He'd have a better chance patting my pockets with a gun in his hand. If better yet, tell me to mail it to the RNC directly. But on a bill? No chance.
My credit is excellent. I can handle a $50.00 dollar charge-off.
