It still amazes me to think that folks actually LIKE going to Wal-mart. But morals are totally void in our society now. Replaced by the almighty dollar. Sad.
Ya ever work for a mom and pop? What kinda benefits did ya get?

A true conversation I had with my boss, Pop, when I was a young man.

Whogo: Pop, I need health insurance my wife is pregnant.

(Pop walks to a closet, retrieves an item and returns)

Pop: Here's a coathanger, kid.

Fortunately, I'm reasonably close to a Costco. Never felt the desire to shop at Walmart. Costco has better quality, competitive prices, and pay a decent wage.

Costco - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As of March 2011, non-supervisory hourly wages ranged from $11.00 to $21.00 in the United States, $11.00 to $22.15 in Canada, and £6.28 to £10.50 in the United Kingdom. In the US, eighty-five percent of Costco's workers have health insurance, compared with less than fifty percent at Walmart and Target.

The only one of my crew at work (8 people) that is shopping is the 21 year old that lives at home.

The rest of us are saving our money for bills.
This was a topic of conversation we had a couple of days ago.

They carry the exact same brands as Wal-Mart.

Unfortunately, I agree. I just got back from Black Friday shopping and spent about 1/2 of what I spent last year. The deals weren't there.
